I’m excited to learn more about blogging. I have never had a blog. Right now, I am wondering if I am experiencing what most people experience when they create their first blog post. I am feeling like I am learning something new in class and I do not quite understand what I am supposed to be doing or typing. However, I do feel like blogging is an activity that will become more familiar to me with time and practice. I’m not very technically inclined so I don’t like to use the computer unless I use it to access YouTube. I was afraid I could not create my blog all by myself, but it was fairly simple to figure out. However, the most difficult part of creating the blog was choosing a name for my profile and blog. Therefore, I decided to call it the first thing that came to mind. This method worked until I saw that my profile name was Tammy’s Blog’s blog.
Blogs and Facebook share the similarity of being accessed through the internet making it possible for people all over the world to engage in the activities on blogs and Facebook. In my opinion they are both good forms of communication. Although they are not used to communicate to a person directly, messages are easily delivered to their audiences in the touch of a button. Sometimes, I fear that blogs and Facebook diminishes the need to speak to people because it may seem easier to communicate through the internet. Henceforth, I believe it may damage traditional human connections.
Personally, I see blogs as a form of free writing. Anything and everything can be written in a blog so it isn't a form of formal writing, but it is like therapy. Life can be hectic with a lot of things occurring at the same time and blogging is similar to writing in a diary without the stress of keeping it secret or personal.
